Suggested Bequest Language
Thank you for considering Food Bank For NYC in your estate plan. Suggested language for the most common forms of bequests is below. Our legal name is Food Bank For NYC, and our Federal Tax ID# is 13-3179546. Our address is 355 Food Center Drive, Bronx, NY 10474.
General Bequests are legacies left to people or causes that come from the general value of your estate and are made by designating a specific dollar amount or a fixed percentage of your estate to Food Bank For NYC.
Suggested General Bequest language:
"I give, devise, and bequeath to Food Bank For NYC, with its offices in New York City, the sum of $_____________ (or a percentage of your estate) for the benefit of Food Bank For NYC and its general purposes."
Residuary Bequests are made when you intend to leave the residue or remaining portion of your assets after the other terms of your will have been satisfied.
Suggested Residuary Bequest language:
"All the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate, both real and personal, I give to Food Bank For NYC, with its offices in New York City for its general purposes."
Contingent or Contingency Bequests allow you to leave a portion of your estate to Food Bank For NYC if your named beneficiaries do not survive you.
Suggested Contingency Bequest language:
"I devise and bequeath the residue of the property, real and personal and wherever situated, owned by me at my death, to (name of beneficiary), if (she/he) survives me. If (name of beneficiary) does not survive me, I devise and bequeath my residuary estate to Food Bank For NYC, with its offices in New York City, for its general purposes."
